Metal tubing used on Whisper.

Post by Quentin Pienaar » Tue Oct 17, 2006 2:02 pm

Hi there.

I am an aircraft engineer living in Cairns, Australia.(moved here from Cape Town.)

I would like to know what kind of material you are using for the whisper engine mount and other tubular parts.( 4130 aircraft tubing or other.)

I am going to have a look at the two kits currently in Cairns and are very interested in acquiring a Whisper kit!

Thanking you
Quentin Pienaar.

The engine mount is 4130 tubing (3/4" OD by 0.035" wall). Most weldments are also 4130.
Some non critical parts are made from commercial aluminium grades eg) canopy latch handles etc.

Hope you like what you see in Cairns!
