Name for the Whisper X

Postby whisper » Mon Jul 07, 2014 11:10 pm

The Whisper X was never really given a final name. The "X" was a temporary name that kind of stuck. Well it so happens that the SACAA has issued its official type designator as X350. This goes on your flight plans etc and is now the official 4 digit designator for this type.
Aside from the "X" in X350 being strangely coincidental the 350 is also almost exactly the top speed in km/h and very nearly the engine capacity in cubic inches!!

So how about the official name of the aircraft be finalised as the Whisper X350 :?: If nothing else at least you won't forget the designator!

Sounds good to me. It will relieve the confusion between the various Whisper models, which is quite confusing it seems to most.

X350 is fine in my book and yes, will help me remember the designator. As the years move on, so does my memory it seems

Seems it is unanimous: X350

I even referred to it as such last night at an EAA gathering to listen to Calle Hedberg's adventurous Troll Air RTW trip...

When speaking to people about my build and the X350, thay all refer to the X350 as the "fast one" :D

Me and Lizelle were sitting watching the sunset with a glas of good redwine... staaaaring in the future... Lizelle asked me "what are you thinking about"... I said "fantasizing about my X"... most upset she said , " you twisted sick old man.... and started packing her bags...

In a scramble I showed her some pictures.... Calm has been restored. The word X is now freely used and she now loves the X just as much as I do... Still a bit sick to explain to people that me and her often fantasizes about "my X" together... But the X stood her ground, so I will fully vote for ... " the X should be axactly what it is... THE X 350

Now only to convince her to get the "X" to move in with us....

I've proof, my X lives in the house, in fact, various rooms are occupied by our X!

Stick to it, eventually she'll succumb ;)
