I like her, just a question is the extra beam in the canopy for extra support???
Is it possible to make a sliding canopy, like the RV's?
It seems that the extra beam will be in your forward sight.

Look forward for the first flight.
Let us know if you need a camera crew.
I am prepered to be the first Pax.
cheers

Hi Johan
For normal forward vision you look under the bow so am hoping it will not be a problem. Sliding canopy is now a possibility if we make the front windscreen fixed but then access to instruments is tricky. Will keep you updated re first flight. Thx for the offer!

I believe the extra "beam" only cosmetic?
The canopy looks Fantastic, I see you also paint a "roof"
In the past I also want to paint a "roof" on the express's canopy but was afraid.
Maybe not a bad idea, The sun is sometimes hot.
Cheers

Hi Johan
To achieve the exact canopy shape that I wanted I made this one in 4 pieces. The roof and the bows are all structural. The current whisper 2 piece canopies are a bit overblown. I wanted a sleeker look. This canopy is also 4mm so am hoping it will handle a bird strike at 200kts!

Jasper n Whisper X kan nie so ver vlieg nie, Dit suip te veel petrol.

It is better to fly a LONGWING WHISPER  , I used only 50 liters From Riversdale to Carnarvon and back (total 4.5 hours)

Can't beat a long wing whisper in the fuel dept...!! Have to agree with Johan on that.....
I'll start saving to buy the fuel to get to carnarvon now...

Russel with the winter holidays nearly over I believe the Whisper X must be close to its maiden flight. Please keep us informed, or did you visited the west coast again.
