Hi Russel, Which MGL EFIS did you buy?
Some of them have everything including GPS, Radio etc.

iEfis Explorer

Number four off the production line....so far it looks FANTASTIC. Fired it up at 1am this morning and it is PRETTY :D
Lovely to see innovation and quality like this coming from good old RSA!!!

You can even run the flaps and trim from it..not to mention autopilot...all via a simple 2 wire CAN bus system.....
clever stuff!

and yes GPS with terrain is certainly in there and it links to the radio for changing frequencies etc. It also acts as an altitude encoder for the xponder

Its absolutely fantastic. I have the ultra Horison, made in 2005, but it was still in black and white, and no GPS, Radio or AutoPilot.

I believe you got it for a special price, marketing it with the Whisper X,
Give us a clue what it cost full house.
or are you not allowed to tell.

Efis retails for 14283. It needs an Ibox at 6099 and an RDAC at 1799.
Magnetometer is 1472 and gyro is 2950. Radio is 6280

You'll also need a few engine sensors in addition to above.

Whisper is an agent for MGL so yes we can bundle the above with your Whisper X kit and you can then leverage some discount!!

Hi Russel,
Just a matter of interest.
Is Whisper X your final name or do you have a other name in the back of your head?

What about Whisper Mirage, Whisper Mystic, Whisper Turbo, Whisper Arobat , Whisper Kite, Whisper Sparrow, Whisper Pigeon

Whisper Cuckoo, Whisper Swift , Whisper Swallow, Whisper Sunbird, or Whisper Shrike,

Ha Ha Ha dit lyk my ek moet werk en minder droom.

Cheers

Whisper Cuckoo sounds appropriate! To suit my state of mind at this point in the project!!
The full name so far is Whisper eXpress. So we have the 16m "motorglider", the 12m "express motorglider" and the 8m "eXpress"

This weekend she goes to FAPE for final rigging and inspection.....

She is so beautiful on the ground, in the air where she belong I believe she will be a star.
And as they say in Namakwaland: "enige kleur is mooi op n vliegtuig solank dit wit is."
I know that she will pass the final inspections eazy.
