I'm having a boob job, especially for the fly-in

We're busy trying to secure the airfield for the weekend
I should know the costs in a few days & it looks like there may be hangarage as well

I am keen on using Gariep as a base only & doing day flips to see the surrounding countryside / towns
& stopping over for breakfast / lunch, then returning to Gariep for the night
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on activities & places to go to ?
- Or do we just "wing it" & plan the day by the "seat of our pants", seeing as this is a flying do

Cheers
Dave

Peter B said - and I quote..... "talk about gliding"

I see some looong, slender, sexy, wings for you in the not-too-distant future :D

After Gariep you'll be hooked

Maybe we can organise a flip in a pure glider for the man at Gariep just to show him he doesn' need the fan turning ALL the time

guys what you are all missing is that i am a born and bred "PetrolHead" now converted with strong addiction to "AvgasHead" :D :D :D

this phobia i have been advised of will never change 8) 8) 8)

also i 2 am prone to overheating just like oil and cht (Oliie Boh knows all about it) and so you will never catch me anywhere without my trusty fan blowing

just make sure you are all at Gariep

Guys,

Just a thought.
Gariep has drawbacks of transport to and from the airport long way and also the countryside gets a bit dull over April.

Hows about the Battlefields Lodge?
Dave you guys know the area?
Looks superb :D :D

Hi All

Battlefields already has a FANTASTIC fly-in, in winter (June)
If y'all are interested, I'll put together a Whisper contingent

Now, our Fly-In.....
I was at Gariep a few weeks ago with Albert, who has joined the 6 pot Jabi
powered Whisper crowd (eish - that thing's on steroids !)
Anyway, Gariep transport isn't a problem. The accommodation will collect & drop off
& a rental or two is fine for 2/3 days to fill in the gaps. Remember Battlefields itself is also in the pandook - it's way too far out of town to hoof it !

Remember the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing -
Gariep is specifically for GLIDING - where there are some of the best soaring conditions in the world. Good enough to keep even the shorties in the air

Cheers
Dave
