Hi Guys

I have just received this from the Soaring Society, via Russell
Edited down to the nitty gritty foul stuff

"World Cup practice - Shield Exercise (3)
This particular operation covers the entire country. Johannesburg, Rustenburg, Pilansburg, Bloem, Durbs, PE, Cape Town, Polokwane. He advised that these towns will centre the 50nm ADIZ areas during 23rd – 26th April."

I am pretty sure Gariep is out of the "zone", but most of us won't be allowed to take off !!!
Unless one of you can come up with a plan, it looks like we're grounded
If anyone can confirm or refute this, and come up with suggestions please advise ASAP
Dave

So why dont we reschedule for a common or garden week-end in May where we all leave on friday morning for Gariep and return sunday?

Hi Guys

Eish :( ! (& that's not the first one today!)

Albert sent me a hang of a long winded SAPS doc which, IF FOLLOWED TO THE "T" should allow flight over the long weekend
It's a moer of a procedure, with pre security clearances, flight clearances & authority numbers, etc, flight plans with codes
en route, and so on.
Each individual flight must be pre-authorised as above, including local "around the patch" flights
Personally, I'm not interested

Alternatively, I support Peter B & my suggestion is the following week end
Take Friday 30/04 as leave to fly up & back again on Sunday 02/05
Short, sweet & simple !
All in favour, say aye!

Cheers
Dave

June 16th will potentially face the airspace restrictions being in the middle of world cup (June 11 to July 11)
