Completion date

Postby jonimike » Tue Apr 03, 2007 3:33 pm

Today was the delivery date.

They took two months to prepare the quotation.

Thus far in excess of R150 000-00 had been paid, and another R30 000+invoiced but disputed, and not paid, because:-

Ladies and gentlemen:-

Boys and girls:-

The date we had all been waiting for:-

Delivery after 35 weeks:-

And this is the state it is in:

Compare it to this job

Postby jonimike » Tue Apr 03, 2007 3:43 pm

For comparison purposes, and making sure we are definitely comparing apples to apples:

Also a fast build kit,

But built by Shadowlite

In half the time, (4 months quoted)

At R70 000-00 cheaper, (regardless of options exercized)

And flying before the end of the quoted period.

Engine Start

Postby jonimike » Tue Jun 19, 2007 12:16 pm

Engine started, and running smoothly.

Aerocarb to be thrown out to be replaced by a fuel injection system.

Just had word from Mike that this aircraft had a sucessful first flight a short while ago - well done!
Says he'll post pics and details later.

Well done to Uys and his team - I have not seen the a/c but judging by the highly skilled team that worked on it I am sure it is a "show stopper".

This is the ninth Whisper to fly.

First Flight

Postby jonimike » Wed Jul 18, 2007 6:10 pm

First flight higher than two metres!!

We did actually leave the ground during taxi trials for short hops, but it doesn't count!

Some work still to be done, intake and outlet still to be made retractable, wheel spats, upholstery, minor tweaks etc.

But it FLIES!!!!!!!
