Oil temperature was running a bit hot ....solution was to have the baffle in oil cooler sealed to ensure that all oil has to pass through the cooler and none can bypass it. Oil temp now steady at 85 debgrees C in cruise and about 90 in the climb. Peter nearly completed his conversion so happiness all around :D

Shadowlite/Jabiru supplied me with 6 ply tyres that are so soft that one flight to Uitenhage and my tyre got taken out by 2 puny thorns......
When you take your aerie nobody tells you how difficult it will be to change a tyre so rather not take there tyres but go for something that is not gonna give you hassles.....my 10c worth. I opted for the Good Year tyres that they fit to Cessnas

Had a magnificent flight yesterday morning and got back to find the oil cooler leaking oil all over the place. This is the 3rd oil Cooler i have been given by Jabiru! The suppliers Jabiru/Shadowlite are using keep saying oh we are doing tests!! I have absoloutely NO CONFIDENCE in there oil coolers and am going to ask for a refund on there bum cooler as i am ordering a cooler from Ventura Engineering Equipment which is same as Russels and Johans and has given no hassles.Serck Speed Oil Cooler Part # 7010221.

Well guys being news to this whole aviation thing when i was asked by AJ as to what my fastest air speed was i covered myself by quoting......"oh around 90 knots"......???????
So when we got airborne and i opened up the 6 cylinders i noticed the speed climbing well past the 120 knot marker
Needless to say on landing after overtaking the field i had a few glances from the Gang

AJ later informed me that the race was mine but next time i will be severely handicapped
In the light of my win there was unfortunately no cup and champagne ceremony!!

However i had myself an absoloute feast of flying out of Aj's field and notched up a cool 5.4 hours for the week-end.
Low level scenic flights over lake Mentz with some classic game sightings as well as a bit of soaring in the Klein Winterberg man it was heaven, with the Whisper performing like a dream

So at this stage am totally Whispered out and looking forward to the next flight!!.........total addict........
