Yes Guys, the 6th August fast approaches. 1 year since delivery of my kit to Shadowlite - but enough said on that subject.
Gary Whitecross kindly started my conversion in his Whisper last Saturday. Boy - that engine/prop combination is a dream!!!
Take-off - interesting - must remember what rudder is for!!!!
Landing - COOL!!!- hold off, hold offffff - very nice.
Bit in the middle - Eish man!!!- everything happens so quick compared to the Falke. At Heildeburg before I knew it.
Big thanks to Gary for his patience and his nerve. Big thanks to Sean,Deon and Barry at the club to get me here in one piece.
Instructors are another breed. Freely giving of their time for the love of the sport to fly with old tuppies like me. Its the zimmer frame that gets them every time!!!
Thought you might what to see what you get for R1.6m. This self launcher comes with bells and whistels but for that price I should think so. Could not believe how quiet the small rotary engine was.

Sadly Brian the answer is a very loud NO!!!!!!!!!
Spoke to Shadowlite last week. The prop was somewhere between NZ and George. The canopy was weighed down with sandbags and they were about to start on the panel. Paul, the factory manager, was unhappy with the finish on some components so were were doing an impersionation of yo-yo back and forthe to the paint shop. More sanding, more polishing.

Quick update. Just got off the phone with Paul. Prop arrived. Started the panel today. Wiring scheduled for next week when electrician finishes his exams. Flight tests, (Yes - I said FLIGHT TESTS!!!!) in about 2 weeks time. Lets all hope I am not disappointed cos I'm going to sulk and my long suffering wife will tell you that is not a pretty site!!!

Dear Tjoek,
Awaiting pics from the lovely Les at Shadowlite.Suggest we run a raffle amongst Whisper fraternity to guess which one in the pic is you. I go for the yellow placard far right - its the haggered look that gives it away!!!!
