Whisper ZU-EYU
Whisper ZU-EYU
ZU-EYU is the 3rd of the 3 Whispers currently on the Shadowlite production line, and in anticipation of it being delivered in the next few weeks (???), Johan Dries and I flew from Plett to Paradise yesterday in Johan’s Tiger Moth, for Johan’s conversion onto the Whisper with Russell (I have the huge privelege of Johan having agreed to do my taildragger training and conversion on ZU-EYU).
What a fantastic experience flying at 500’ AGL all the way up the coast in an open cockpit, but a 30 knot bumpy easterly on the way back made flying in the Tiger Moth hard work. I also had the pleasure of Russell letting me experience some gliding with him in his Whisper. Much excitement on my side at the prospect of my Whisper finally being delivered!

Re: Whisper ZU-EYU
Andrew that is awesome news about your aerie.
I am sure you are going to be very happy with your purchase.
Yes i was around Paradise yesterday afternoon and it was a lot windier there than at PE (Took off in a 15 knot West)
Very Interesting.............
Looks like the Boys from the Eastern Cape are gonna be able to hold some well attended Whisper Fly Inns

Re: Whisper ZU-EYU
Congrads Andrew. Will have a close look if I go down next week to collect OLY. Spoke to Les earlier today and she said they were pushing to complete EYU and also get Stan's ship out of the door.
Exciting times indeed

Re: Whisper ZU-EYU
Just had a call from Jean, and ZU-EYU flew for the first time today - beautifully! There are a few small things which inevitably need ironing out, but Jean is hoping to get the plane across to Plett on one of the proving flights in the next couple of days so I can get a first real taste of my new Whisper.

NUMBER 17
Congrats Andrew!

Congrats Andrew!
Re: Whisper ZU-EYU
Thanks, Russell. I've just spent the morning flying EYU with Jean near George, and what an amazing experience. There are some really small tweaks to be made, but otherwise it looks fantastic and is fantastic! Les took some photos, so hopefully I'll have these to post soon.
Re: Whisper ZU-EYU
Many congrads Andrew. Just ordered an unlocking tail wheel from Russell to help with single handed ground handling. Consider it. Looking forward to seeing the pics.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
